Haribhai V. Desai College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune-02 is recognized as one of the premier academic institutions in Pune city. It stands tall in public esteem and also in the memories of its alumni, many of whom are now prominent figures in the government, business and industry, media and education sector. Students from all backgrounds have grown and excelled in the chosen areas of their interests; be it academics, sports or extra-curricular activities. Haribhai V. Desai College of Arts, Science and Commerce, Pune was established in 1984, by The Poona Gujarati Kelvani Mandal. It started as an organization to cater to the Gujarati minority and the traditional business sections of the society. The college is located in the traditional business area of Pune city with a high density of population around it. This promoted education and motivated especially girl students in vicinity to pursue higher education. Initially, the College was housed in RCM School and Junior College. The college is declared an autonomous college from year 2024-25. The College shifted into its new premises in the year 1987 and was a single faculty college until 1993.
